Dr. Kimberly Simmons

Dr. Kimberly Cunningham Simmons, DVM, is Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Consulting for Clinaxel, Inc., a Clinglobal group company. A graduate of Tuskegee University, she earned both her B.S. in Animal and Poultry Sciences and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1996. Dr. Simmons began her career in companion animal practice before joining Novartis Animal Health, where she transitioned from Professional Services into Regulatory Affairs, and later held leadership roles in the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Over the course of her career, she has served in global leadership positions with Novartis, Merial Animal Health, IDEXX Laboratories, and Elanco Animal Health, where she was Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs.



In 2020, she founded Simmons Consulting Group, LLC, providing strategic consulting to the animal health and pharmaceutical industries in regulatory affairs, innovation, product stewardship, and organizational culture. She joined Clinglobal, Inc., an animal health CRO, as a regulatory consultant in 2022 and led the development of its Regulatory Affairs organization under the Clinaxel brand in 2025.


Dr. Simmons currently resides in Indiana with her husband and their twin teenagers, a dog, a cat, and a turtle. She is a former board member of the Women’s Veterinary Leadership Development Initiative (WVLDI) and currently serves on the AVMA Belonging and Engagement (B&E) Circle.
